Director of Contracts and Administration


As a member of the AM Trace Leadership, Cawood works closely with the other business units to develop proposals, oversee preparation, and monitor progress on all programs and projects. He oversees all plans and directs all aspects of the organization’s contract administration function.

He brings over nineteen years of invaluable cradle-to-grave contracts knowledge and experience from the Department of Defense (DOD) and the private sector ranging from Base Life Support to Advanced and Innovative Satellite Communications Systems. Prior to joining the AM Trace Team, he was a Captain in the United States Air Force where he served as a Contracting Officer and deployed three times to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. After being Honorably discharged from the USAF, he worked as a full-time employee as well as a consultant in the private sector with a focus on proposal writing, FAR/DFAR’s compliance and contracts management. 

Cawood earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and his MBA from The University of North Georgia. He also holds a graduate certificate in Technology Leadership from the and Certified Professional Contracts Manager, CPCM.
