As a Program Coordinator on the AM TRACE team, Ms. Patel supports state and local COVID-19 efforts through the implementation and evaluation of public health programs. She helps administer the COVID-19 disease surveillance team by enhancing policies, procedures and operational changes.
Ms. Patel, who graduated from West Virginia University, has a diverse background of experiences as she has completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) along with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in health policy, management and leadership. She has previously interned at the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), which is a branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) where she integrated evidence and policy issues regarding Electronic Health Records for a manuscript.
Ms. Patel has prior experience in creating business plans through her research project where she helped develop a telemedicine business plan for WVU Medicine’s Emergency department to provide care in the rural southern counties of West Virginia. She is also highly skilled in data analytics from her previous role as an Associate Business Optimization Strategist. Ms. Patel has worked for the largest healthcare system in West Virginia, WVU Medicine, where she was the primary point of contact for the Heart and Vascular Institute service line requests related to analytics, and business intelligence and reporting. She has worked closely with the leading heart surgeons and nurses to create interactive dashboards for performance/process improvement purposes to enhance patient satisfaction.
